Promotion of Russian arbitrators in the international arena and keeping the Russian arbitration community united, regardless of the geopolitical situation, are the most important tasks of ICC Russia. For eight years we have been maintaining and presenting in Russia and abroad the recommended register of Russian arbitrators from ICC Russia.
The attitude of financial institutions to arbitration
A research conducted by ICC Russia jointly with AB KIAP showed that the presence of a foreign element in the transaction is of decisive importance for the potential use of an arbitration clause by Russian financial institutions, and the main advantages of arbitration are the terms of consideration, the possibility of enforcing an arbitral award in other countries, the possibility of choosing by the parties to the arbitrators, the confidentiality of the dispute and the possibility of applying foreign law. However, the study revealed that respondents to Russian financial institutions still lack up-to-date and complete information on some key aspects of arbitration proceedings.
